I Will Fly

My tears have not yet fully been shed,
yet I lift my head to the sky,
for I know, that one day, I will fly.
I trust, and have faith
for that will carry me through
when the road gets rough,
and it's hard to see
exactly what I someday might be.
Yet I will go on with the dream
that has been mine for so long
for I know, one day, I will fly.

(This was my 1st poem...written after the Columbia disaster last year)

Perfect Stranger

i stood facing the wind
trying to be strong
but it grabbed me
and i fell...

and as i tumbled down
i cried out
will someone catch me
or is it too late?

then you caught me
and picked me up
set me back on my feet
gave me your strength

but when i turned to see
whose hands had secured me
you were gone
leaving me alone once again

i want to tell you
what you did changed my life
but, my perfect stranger
you are only a shadow

i stand facing the wind
with more courage than before
come and find me
for here i will be
waiting for you
my perfect stranger

(several meanings to this one...)

Amazing Love

Some days hurt worse
than others
when the failure is real
and regret haunts me
And I cry a little
for things that might have been
and for a future that isn't mine

how i wish things could be different
if i had one chance to do it again
just one tiny chance
things would not be as they now are
i would not hurt, i would have no pain
but i cannot change anything

i clench the pain in my fist
never, ever to let go
but Someone takes my hand
gently pries open my fingers.
He takes my pain
how dare He??
It's mine, I won't give it up!

But no, the One who loves
takes the pain
out of my hand and out of my heart
and as I stand,
speechless and motionless
He reaches for my hand again
my palms are open, empty
He touches my hands
and fills me with Love
Amazing Love

And I cry again
not for what might have been
not tears of regret or sadness
but tears of joy and love
for I have been touched by
Amazing Love

Rest
Sometimes the world just seems too much
Come to me...
Will I even make it through the week?
all you who are weary...
Stress piles up like bricks on my shoulders
and burdened...
And I just want to give up.
and I will give you rest.
But I am reminded
Take my yoke upon you…
Of God’s faithfulness yet again
And learn from me…
For He will carry me through
for I am gentle and humble in heart…
Even my toughest days.
and you will find rest for your souls…
I lean on Him, and take His hand
For my yoke is easy
And I feel rest.
and my burden is light.

My wonderful friend Stacy has a website for her poems. And I thought that was a cool idea, so i'm copying her! :P I don't write poems often, but when I do, I'll post them here, ok? :)
